About us.
On the left is Jack Purdue, founder of The Recovery Shop. With over 40 years of experience, Jack built The Recovery Shop from the ground up with a passion for quality and a deep respect for original design. Specializing in automotive, aircraft, and marine upholstery, Jack became known for his ability to bring interiors back to their original condition—restoring every stitch, seam, and surface with precision and care.
From vintage cars to classic boats and aircraft, Jack approached every project with an expert eye and a craftsman’s touch, ensuring that each restoration looked and felt just like it did the day it was made.
On the right is Chris Purdue, proud second-generation trimmer and current owner of The Recovery Shop. In August 2020, Chris took the reins from his father, Jack Purdue, who founded the shop over 40 years ago. Keeping it a family-owned business, Chris has continued the tradition of quality craftsmanship—while also bringing a fresh, modern perspective to the table.

About Me
This is me — Chris Purdue. I’m now the proud owner of The Recovery Shop, carrying on the legacy my dad, Jack Purdue, started over 40 years ago. Since learning the craft from him, I’ve brought a fresh perspective to the shop, blending old-school craftsmanship with new-school creativity.
I put a lot of pride and joy into every project, making sure each customer leaves with something they’re proud of. From hot rods to planes, I offer full customization tailored to your vision — whether that means designing with fiberglass, building custom center consoles, crafting trunk setups, or anything else you can imagine.
I love bringing new ideas and designs to life, while still honoring the classic roots of this trade. If you can dream it, I’ll work with you to make it a reality.
